With the anticipation of the high season for the Maasai Mara National Reserve, the numbers of the tourists visiting the park has been increasing steadily and it is now a good sign for the expected high season. This season which culminates with the concurrent "Seventh Wonder of the World", annual migration of the Wildebeests. The game Lodges are also preparing for a busy time this season, considering the poor occupancy levels of the lodges at the same time last year, highly regarded to the past dry whether spell, that saw a devastated wildlife and domestic animals populations alike. With the resumption of the long rains, all seems well and the parks are all green, which is also attributed to the inflow of the tourists.

With all these going on, the council management, which is also the custodian of the Maasai Mara National Reserve, is not taking a back seat, and neither is it leaving anything to chance. The council has embarked on a massive marketing plan, to publicize the Maasai Mara internationally. Recently, the county Clerk was on a marketing trip to United Arab Emirates - Dubai and their mission was a complete success. With the results of that trip, more council officials have been tasked with the duty of extending the publicity tours to Europe and the Americas.

Currently, officials are out to open days organised in collaboration with Kenya Tourism Board, for different staged sites in the USA, and Canada. The Kenya tourism board offices, currently in New York, has arranged for the tours for the Kenyan tourism sector organizations, who will showcase marketing presentations in different states in the USA and Canada, for ten days.

The Council officials who have been tasked with the markting for the Canadian Tourism Market, already left for Canada on Saturday 28th May, while the team to market the Mara in the United States of America will leave for New York on Sunday 6th June.
