Olpusimoru Secondary School is on of the most visible beneficiaries of the LATF funding projects in the Council. Situated deep in the Mau forest, on the edge of Narok District.
The school is Headed by a humble yet innovative Principal, Mr Andrew Amadi Aluu (Pictured Left), who believes that necessity is the mother of invention.Having headed the school for just over 5 years, in coordination with the area councilor Masikonde, Mr Aluu has managed to oversee a wide range of successful projects in the school, transforming the development to whole new level.
These projects include a refurbished office block which was modified to accommodate the Principals office complete with the Receptionist's area, a separated staffroom, a completed Laboratory Block (Pictured). He has also initiated a staff housing project with the first phase due for completion. With assistance from other funding assistances, a girls dormitory block is complete, and LATF funding has also helped to develop a mid sized abolition block.
The area Councillor has been helpful in combining efforts with Mr Asuu, to help achieve some of the set goals. He has personally donated 3 cows and a Bull, which help in subsidizing for the milk for 10:00am Tea and Lunch for both the students and Teachers. With help from Councillor Masikonde, the Rural Electrification Authority has managed to provide the power lines all the way to the Administration block, and is a good sign of better things to come with the arrival of electricity in the school.
With LATF funds, Mr. Asuu has also managed to give a face-lift to the school kitchen, which is now with a stone floor, a concrete washbasin and an energy saving cooking stove. Mr. Asuu believes that with the ongoing disbursements of LATF, he will be able to archive all the goals already set for the school, and that the morale of the students and teachers will be well boosted.
